Admission Procedure for Engineering courses

 

The Applicants for undergraduate Engineering Courses: B. Tech, IDD or IMD have to apply through the  Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), an all India competitive examination conducted by the seven IITs, IT-BHU and ISM Dhanbad. It is considered to be the most prestigious examination of national importance at 10+2 level. If the candidate is offered admission after the test, he has to follow the same procedures regarding VISA and registration.
 

The admission process for M. Tech. / M. Pharma. courses involves the  following steps:

 

Self-Financing Candidates

  1. Download and print the application form from this website after filling the online registration form OR collect the application form from the International Centre office at Tagore house, Banaras Hindu University.

  2. Fill up the application form, sign it, attach all the required certificates and the draft for the processing fee and send it to the International Center, Tagore house, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi -221005, India so as to reach this office on or before the last date prescribed. Make sure to check the eligibility criteria before applying for any particular course.

  3. The International Centre, BHU will have the application  scrutinized and if eligible, the candidate will be sent the provisional eligibility / admission letter through registered post.

  4. On receiving the provisional eligibility / admission letter, the candidate has to apply to the Indian Embassy in his country for issuance of proper Student's Visa, endorsed in the name of Banaras Hindu University. Please note that no other type of Visa will be acceptable for the purpose of admission.

  5. On acquiring the said Visa, the candidate has to report for admission to the International Centre, BHU within the period prescribed in the provisional eligibility / admission letter.

  6. The admission of International students will be confirmed only after verification of original certificates, medical fitness test and payment of required fees.

Candidates under Scholarship Schemes:

 

Several scholarship schemes are offered by Indian Council for Cultural Relations to International students seeking to pursue various study courses in India. Admission of such candidates involves following steps:

  1. Fill the prescribed application form of ICCR available at the Indian embassy in their respective country along with all the necessary documents, certificates etc.

  2. If admission and scholarship is offered to them, they get the information from the Indian Embassy in their country.

  3. They should get proper Student's Visa, endorsed in the name of Banaras Hindu University from the embassy.

  4. On acquiring the said Visa, the candidate has to report for admission to the International Centre, BHU within the period prescribed in the provisional eligibility / admission letter.

  5. The admission of International students will be confirmed only after verification of original certificates, medical fitness test and payment of required fees.
