Role of International Centre

The International Centre, at the time of its inception was assigned the following role

 International Centre has been established with a view to provide single window system for admission of International Students. Therefore, all the International candidates, seeking admission to Banaras Hindu University (except Medical & B.Tech.) have to fill up the application form obtained from the International Centre, BHU or by downloading from its site. The forms are also submitted at the International Centre which processes the forms for admission. Admission letters are also issued by the International Centre and the candidates report at the same place for admission. Thus the International Centre is working towards providing hassle free admission process for the International students.

The International Centre has been processing the proposals received from various International Universities/Institutions, seeking MoU in academic area, exchanges of study Programmes, students and faculties.  A number of MoU(s) have been done &/or under consideration with various Universities/Institutions abroad. The list of such University/Institutions is a follows:

The University has the provision to invite/accept the proposals for the appointment of Language teachers under the permission of the Government of India, under this scheme and presently some teachers are already on roll in foreign languages. Like wise, the International Scholars have the opportunity to be associated with the BHU as Visiting Professors/Fellow for which applications/ proposals are received by the International Centre.

The International Centre has organized various cultural shows/festivals, exhibition etc. within the very short span of its establishment (hardly two years).  Amongst these, following may be noted:  Horizon Series, Azadi Vatan Ki, a play by Cultural Centre of Mauritius organized in collaboration of I.C.C.R., Play and exhibition based on the story of B.P.Koriala (January 2007) in collaboration with the B.P. Koirala Foundation, Nepal, deputation of students for Soufest held at Jammu and I.C.C.R. camps organized at various places in the country.

The International Centre is actively sharing with the I.C.C.R. for the implementation of Council�s policies for International Students, admission, distribution of scholarships, other programmes of I.C.C.R. held at BHU in particular and Varanasi and adjacent area in general.
