Dr Abhijeet Biswas is Assistant Professor at the Institute of Management Studies, Banaras Hindu University. He is an M.B.A (Gold Medalist) from the Faculty of Management Studies, B.H.U and has qualified UGC-JRF in Management Ten times in a row. Dr Biswas was awarded the B.H.U Gold Medal, Dr S.K.R. Bhandari Gold Medal (Founder of Management Studies Programme at B.H.U) and Kedar Nath Gold Medal for standing first in merit at M.B.A. Examination, 2013 by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of the University. Dr Biswas was ranked among the Top 50 Researchers in entire Southern Asia based on the P-Rank as per the ABDC Journal Quality List 2019 Ranking, CABS Academic Journal Guide 2021 Ranking and Scimago Journal Ranks 2018. He features in the Top 10 in the same list based on the criteria of Sole Author Publications.

Dr Biswas earned his PhD from the Institute of Management Studies, B.H.U and is also the recipient of the prestigious B.H.U meritorious scholarship. He completed his Bachelor’s in Fashion Technology (B.F.Tech) from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Bangalore in 2009 and worked as an Assistant Quality Manager for two years in an export house in Bangalore. Before joining Banaras Hindu University in 2019, Dr Biswas was working as an Assistant Professor at Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Bihar. He has presented numerous papers in national and international conferences, delivered invited lectures in workshops, chaired technical sessions and has received the Most Appreciated Research Paper Award 2021 by the Institute of Management Studies, B.H.U. He is currently working on a Major project on MSMEs funded by the Institution of Eminence (IoE), Banaras Hindu University and has guided more than 50 master‘s dissertations.

As of now, Dr Biswas has 9 publications (of which 7 are Sole Author/First Author Publications) in Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC) ranked and Scopus indexed journals which include International Journal of Quality & Reliability Management (ABDC-B; ABS-2), Benchmarking: An International Journal (ABDC-B; ABS), International Journal of Productivity and Performance Management (ABDC-B; ABS), International Journal of Quality and Service Sciences (ABDC-B; ABS), Society and Business Review (ABDC-B; ABS-2), The Journal of Entrepreneurship (ABDC; ABS), Journal of Foodservice Business Research (ABDC; ABS) etc. He is on the reviewer board of several reputed journals published by Emerald, SAGE, Taylor & Francis, Elsevier, Wiley and Springer. His research interests include Entrepreneurial Traits, MSMEs, Consumer Behavior, Banking, Hospitality & Tourism and Strategic Management. Dr Biswas is the Warden of the Management Hostel, Banaras Hindu University from September 2021 onwards.
