Mahila Mahavidyalaya library

Mahila Mahavidyalaya library is intended exclusively for the use by the students, faculty members and non teaching staff of the college. However, others are welcome to use the library for consultation, temporary permits can obtain on request for the same.

The Library aims to supplement the teaching in order to cater to the requirements of various subjects such as Humanities, Social Sciences, Science, Home Science, Fine Arts, Music, Computer Science, Bioinformatics and Education and also many Indian Languages like Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu and Bengali.

Mahila Mahavidyalaya Library works as a resource centre for all academic activities of the College. It has about 54062 volumes of Books and 790 Back volumes of Journals.


History

After its inception in 1929, Mahila Mahavidyalaya Library was initially housed in the College hall and was managed by the teachers. In 1962 first time professionals were appointed and concerted attempts could made for the development of college library.


Library Building

The Library Building was constructed in 10000 Sq. Ft in the year 1967. It has one Reading Hall, Stack Hall, Reference and Textbook Section, Technical Section, Acquisition Section, Six Research Cubicles and Circulation Counter, The Library is well equipped with adequate furniture, staff and modern computer facilities to provide comprehensive services to the users.


Library Hours

MMV Library functions from 10.00 AM to 5.00 PM on all working days.
