Appeal to BHU alumni to contribute to the PMCARES Fund to help combat 𝐂𝐎𝐕𝐈𝐃-𝟏𝟗

In these uncertain times with our civilization at stake, the world at large is together fighting out the threat of the deadly COVID-19, with most places under lockdown. Most of us are grateful to be safe in the confines of our homes, yet a large number of people are battling this pandemic in uncertainty and have not been so fortunate with services. To them and those who are battling this pandemic, each of us owes a duty.

To tackle this emergency situation at the national level and greatly benefit the citizenry, the Government of India, under the able leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has constituted the PM's Citizen Assistance & Relief in Emergency Situations (PMCARES) Fund.

With the long tradition of devotion to the development of this nation and service to humanity, the Banaras Hindu University family takes it to be its moral duty and responsibility to respond to such crisis situation and testing times. Hence, I appeal to all alumni to contribute generously, whatever best each of us can.

This small stride of support from our part would be instrumental in combating this pandemic. I sincerely hope that all the alumni/ae members will respond positively to uphold and strengthen the legacy of Banaras Hindu University through their contributions. Kindly note that the staff members of the university have voluntarily started contributing through their own ways, in whichever capacity possible. A line of subsequent information through email at [email protected] for our records, would be highly appreciated.
