Brief writeup on area of specialization/awards/achievements:

Area of Specialization

My fields of intrest are high energy physics (phenomenology), cosmology and astrophysics. At Banaras Hindu University, I started work on the properties and signals of quark gluon plasma in 1986 and this new field started in 1981. In 1992 and 1993, I wrote two reviews on the field and these reviews are still more useful for the beginners in the field. In 1999, we started experimental research collaboration in PHENIX experiments at Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider, Brookhaven National Laboratory. Thus BHU group is now a world-famous group in the field of quark gluon plasma (QGP). We are at present exploring the mapping of QCD phase boundary, locating the QCD critical point, equation of state (EOS) of interacting QGP, EOS for hot, dense hadron gas, and properties and signals of QGP.
