Brief writeup on area of specialization/awards/achievements:

The observations of astronomers imply that the Universe is still expanding from an infinitely dense and energetic state, after an initial 'hot big bang' some 15 billion years ago. But how did the matter of the present-day Universe evolve from this state? This is one of the major questions that modern research in particle physics seeks to answer. The physicists of today have joined forces with astronomers in exploring the origins of the Universe-and in particular, the origins of matter. We are trying hard to get the answers of these questions using different art of the state techniques (detectors) and tools. Our research studies include: i) Experimental Research in Nuclear and Astroparticle Physics and ii) Detector Technology Research and Development. Under experimental research program, we investigate the frontier of Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) by attempting to recreate and characterize new and predicted forms of matter and other new phenomena that might occur in extreme conditions and which have not existed since the Big-Bang. One of the outstanding questions that current exists in cosmology is that we know very little about what makes up the universe. Dark-matter accounts for about 1/4 of the total matter in the universe, yet its nature and properties are still a mystery. Direct detection of dark matter has yet to be observed. Group is highly involved discovering the secrete of science and surrounding To achieve the physics goals, group is actively collaborating in PHENIX (USA), CBM (Germany), TEXONO (Taiwan), INO (India) and MIPP & MINOS (USA) experiments. Under this program, we are trying to develop a gaseous detectors consisting of a glass and bakelite electrodes for INO experiments which is one of the mega science project of DST, New Delhi. Group is also involved in developing novel design of HPGe detector for dark matter search experiment.
