Area of specialization:

Seasonally breeding wild birds encounter variety of environmental challenges throughout the year. In order to survive birds have developed various strategies that protected themselves from the stressor of environments to reproduce accordingly. Evidences suggest strong link between reproduction, endocrine and immunity as a key homeostatic functions along with energy balance in seasonally breeding birds. Hence, the study of neuroendocrine pineal immune interactions can be useful in addressing important adaptational strategies regarding the neural and hormonal mechanisms that help birds to survive. I am interested in understanding the relationship between ecological stress induced immune depressions in avian population especially finches. Our research include experimentally creating conditions which birds encounter in nature by integrating the lab-based research with whole-organism studies under natural conditions.
