About us:
Central Hindu Girls School (CHGS), an integral part of BHU, is one of the oldest premier institutions of girl's education in the city. It epitomizes the exalted vision and ideas of its founder Mrs. Annie Besant since its inception in 1904, as Kanya Vidyalaya. Set in the heart of the city, spread over a sprawling and beautiful campus, the institution is religiously performing its duty of synthesizing the ideals of Mahamana and Mrs. Annie Besant of providing qualitative girl's education as well as preserving and spreading national culture and heritage. As they believe in "Golden study in a muddy house is better than a muddy study in a golden house" alike we are having standard education but with the best infrastructure. For the past over 100 years the schools has been imbibing deep rooted values for individualistic growth of children to prepare them to be democratic, responsible, dutiful and honest citizens. The school is presently imparting the education from Nursery classes to the Higher Secondary classes. Our college is having two campuses. Nursery and Primary Section is held in the campus of Kolhua & Secondary and Higher Secondary classes are held in campus of Kamachha Varanasi. Nursery and Primary Section Kolhua is co-ed where girls and boys they both are included. After that, girls are divided from class 6th onwards, they are separately taught in the Central Hindu Girls School Kamachha Varanasi.
Campus
The campus of CHGS is the great pride that for the past over 100 years the school has been giving such values to the students that besides their own development they are brought up as a responsible, dutiful and honest citizen of this country. Campus plays a very important role in the sustainable development of students with the presence of nature, values and homogeneity, our campus is blessed with the continuity of all. We are having biodiversity present in school environment as well as unity in diversity in their attitude as their dynamic growth and development.
Computer Centre
A well-equipped Computer lab is available in the primary section as well as for the secondary and higher secondary classes. Computer education is supplemented towards modern updation in the field of education.
Library
The school has provided a well equipped library to the students. There are 16000 books available in the library. We are having books in the entire academic, cultural, aesthetic, social and scientific sphere. Magazines, news papers, journals and health books they also update our students. Good books are the immunity of our academic and backbone of the academic heritage we have sustained all vitality in the form of standard books in our library. We give good books to be chewed and digested by the students to improve their taste, interest and liking towards book to study as a healthy appetite.
