The International Centre of Banaras Hindu University was established in 2004, with an objective to deal with all matters related to Foreign Nationals viz. Collaboration with Foreign Universities/ Institutions, Foreign scholars visiting India as Visiting Lecturer/ Professor, Alumni Association of Foreign Students, Admission of Foreign Students etc. The International Centre is headed by the Chairman of International Centre & International Students Advisor, Banaras Hindu University, associated with the Coordinator, International Collaboration and Students Affairs. The International Centre is housed in C/3/3 Tagore house, one of the oldest buildings of BHU, so named after the Noble Laureate Gurudev Rabindra Nath Tagore, who stayed in this building during his visit to BHU in the year 1923.
