LABORATORY FOR SCIENTIFIC STUDIES IN
ARCHAEOLOGY

RECENT LABORATORY ACTIVITIES
In addition to imparting laboratory training to the students
of M.A. (Final) Archaeology & Numismatics Group', Laboratory for
Scientific Studies in Archaeology' is utilised for scientific
researches in archaeometallurgy, ceramic technology and other study
of inorganic materials.

Copper coins of from Agiabir, Khairadih, Anai and the coins
recovered for explorations along the Varuna River were undertaken
for treatment and preservation.

Metallurgical studies of copper and iron sample from
different sites were taken.
-
A number of slag samples of iron from Sonbhadra
district were
studied.
RECENT ACQUISITIONS
In the process of modernisation, the 'Laboratory for
Scientific Studies in Archaeology' has procured following new
equipments/instruments from the Grants from the DST and the UGC
(under Xth Plan-Equipments).
