PhD
We offer PhD in various branches of
Linguistics. Admission is based on the score obtained in Common Reseach Entrance
Test (CRET) held at BHU during June-July. The minimum educational qualification
is MA/MSc/MTech in relevant subject with at least 55% marks in aggregate.
MPhil
We plan to offer (from session 2007 onwards)
MPhil in Applied Linguistics/Language Sciences. Admission is based on a test
(written and interview) held in the department during June-July. The minimum
qualification is MA/MSc in linguistics or allied subjects. The course comprises
of two semesters (6 months each). The first semester consists of four papers
with specifications as below:

4. Translation and lexicography
The second semester consists of a
dissertation.
MA
We run a two-year-4 semester Master's program
of 16 papers (4 in each semester). The admission is based on a common entrance
test, minimum 50% marks at the graduation level is required.
