An initial survey of the area shows a great potential for medicinal and herbal plant cultivation. The rich heritage of Ayurveda and the knowledge and experience of Faculty of Ayurveda shall be used for large-scale cultivation of medicinal plants/herbs which have immense market potential in the country as well as internationally. The mass cultivation of these herbs will impart job opportunities / business potential to the local inhabitants. Initially 50 acres is to be put under medicinal plants, natural dyes and other plants of commercial value.
Various Post harvest techniques would also be developed at the site. A pilot plant/ extraction facility is also to be erected at the site to be used as technology incubation model for various entrepreneurship developments for the adjoining districts. This extraction facility will be sponsored through projects being submitted to DST, GOI. Local industrialists may provide financial support for development of natural dyes to be used in carpet industry.
