UNDER FACULTY OF ARTS A.
FACULTY OF ARTS Select
any one combination from Sl. No. 1 to 21 from the following subject combination
chart. Choose one subject from each column wherever alternatives are given.
Note:
1.
Only 10 students with combination of Math, Statistics and Economics shall
be permitted to offer Honours in Economics at the B. A. Part III stage. 2.
Honours in any other subject of the Faculty of Social Sciences shall
not be permitted to the students of Faculty of Arts. The subject of Social Sciences
are available only in B.A. Part-I & II and not in B.A. Part-III. 3.
A ceiling of 15 students for the Faculty of Arts in each of the subjects
of Faculty of Social Sciences (Total 75 students) is imposed. 4.
Compulsory language should be different from the optional language. 5.
Candidates who want to opt for Mathematics must have studied Mathematics
at 10+2 or equivalent level. 6.

NOTE: (i)
In B.A. (Hons.)/
B.Sc. (Hons.) course the students shall be allotted their Honours subjects only at Part-III (3rd year). Honours shall
be offered on the basis of merit obtained by a candidate in the subject concerned
during Part-I and Part-II as well as his/her total aggregate marks obtained
in Part-I & II. (ii)
Honours degree shall
be awarded to a candidate under the Faculty where his/her admission was initially
made. Students of Mahila Mahavidyalaya and affiliated colleges offering Painting
as Honours at Part-III (3rd Year) shall be eligible to appear in
Postgraduate Entrance Test (PET) of BHU provided they complete 1-Year bridge
course to be made available in the Faculty of Visual Arts (Presently link course
is not available). (iii)
There will be no
Honours available in any of the vocational courses in the Faculty of Arts/ Faculty
of Social Sciences /Mahila Mahavidyalaya/ affiliated colleges. (iv)
Mahila Mahavidyalaya
and all affiliated colleges will follow the ordinances approved for the Faculty
of Arts/ Faculty of Social Sciences as per applicability in the concerned colleges
in respect of offering of subject combinations and the allotment of Honours.
However the subject combinations available in faculty, MMV and affiliated colleges
for the session (for which the test is held) are as listed above. (v)
It is advisable
to offer only those combinations in which the number of candidates is at least
five. (vi)
No Honours is available
in the vocational subject (viz. Industrial Microbiology) in the Faculty of Science.
(vii)
Mahila Mahavidyalaya
will follow the Ordinances approved for the Faculty of Science as per applicability
in the concerned college in respect of offering of subject combinations and
the allotment of Honours. However the subject combinations available in faculty
and MMV for the session for which the test is held are as listed above. (viii)
Statistics (Hons.)
course can be opted by students having Mathematics as one of the other subjects
at undergraduate level. |
