The speciality of Anaesthesiology represented as an
independent unit since 1960 and became independent Department in 1971.
Since then the department is involved in the training of Post graduate
(MD) Anaesthesiology and also Post Doctors Certificate Course (PDCC) in
super specialities of Anaesthesiology (Neuro Anesthesia, Cardiac Anesthesia,
Intensive Care - ICU, Pain & Palliative Care, Anesthesia for Urology
ad Renal Transplant, Plastic & Microvascular Surgery. The department
has an intake of 10 students in MD courses every year and five in PDCC
(Post MD).
