Achievements and Future Plan:

The Department has a several Students who have been bringing good name to the Department by earning National Scholarships from the Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India and winning awards at National competitions and Youth Festivals. Some of the Students of the Department have been successfully groomed to become performers with National and International repute.
The faculty members are also highly reputed in the field of music with all of them having excellent. Performing achievements and most of them also being recipients of several prestigious awards and honors.

Future Plan:
The Department aims to further course of music by creating its own archives with special emphasis on the collection and the preservation of rare recordings of the great masters of the era gone by. As part of its extension activities the Department has proposed to digitalize some rare music recordings.
The Department also intends to offer new courses in the allied field of Sound Engineering, Music Management and Music Criticism.
Apart from this the Department also aims at introducing undergraduate and post graduate courses in the other instruments as well.
