Achievements

Major Achievements (July 1, 2008 - June 30, 2009)

Some of the important achievements of the Proctorial Board during the academic year 2008-09 are as under:

Not a single working day was lost in the University on account of any kind of unrest, gherao or strikes etc. during the last academic session (i.e., 2008-09). Even when all other schools, colleges and universities in the city were closed due to one or other call given by an organization, the University remained opened under the tight security cover provided by the proctorial board.

Many national events involving large gathering (e.g., Convocation, international conferences and many national conferences), in the campus passed off peacefully under the strict security cover of the Chief Proctor Office.

Many cases of manhandling / beating / marpeet were prevented before their occurrence on the basis of timely intelligence reports and effective preventive measures taken promptly by the proctorial board.

The intensive patrolling by the security staff on the campus has led to decline in crimes like theft and snatching etc. Above all, the campus residents and their families have been freely moving even during late night hours without any fear.

One student of Faculty of Arts Late Kismal Lal died on 19.11.08; but due to vigilance of the chief proctor's office no agitation of students, and classes were also not disturbed. In some such incidents in the past the University faced sine die/ closure.

In past the strike of Sir Sunder Lal Hospital residents used to last for more than one week; but the strike of the residents in the session (2008-2009) the strike was called off within 48 hours.
