Brief writeup on area of specialization/awards/achievements:

Area of specialization (Neuroendocrinology and Reproductive Physiology)
Neuroendocrine Control of Reproductions in Birds and Mammals
In addition to studying thyroid gonad and adrenal-gonad relationship in seasonally breeding species of birds, our research focuses on the role of temporal phase relation of circadian serotonergic and dopaminergic oscillations in the regulation of reproduction and photos-sexual responses of birds including poultry species Japanese quail.
Molecular Biology of Vasotocin and its receptors
Expression of hypothalamic arginine vasotocin (AVT) gene and its receptors (VT1, VT2 and VT3) in the brain, shell gland and pituitary have been studied in relation to water balance, oviposition and various forms of stress.
Radiation Biology
Recent research is focused on the effects of non ionizing radiations especially microwaves on the function of brain (memory, DNA damage in brain cells and circadian system). Award: Recipient of Fulbright Fellowship (1992-1994)
