The Department offers 3 year undergraduate (B.Sc. Hons.) credit-based semester course (6 semesters) with a total annual uptake of 310 students, 2 year M.Sc. credit based-semester course (4 semesters) with a total annual intake of 76 students and Ph.D. programme (presently 96 registered research scholars) in Zoology. Presently there are 32 members on the faculty, one BHU Emeritus Professor and one Re-employed Professor, and 5 DST-Young Scientists as PIs of independent projects. Currently 32 individual research projects are in operation with a fiscal outlay of about Rs. 1224.0 lakhs.
