Brief writeup on area of specialization/awards/achievements: |
|
We aim to study different aspects of the circadian clock; from behavior to genes related to phase re-setting by using photic and non-photic cues. The effects of certain different wavelengths of light and centrally active compounds on the circadian locomotor activity rhythm in nocturnal as well as diurnal mammals are currently being elucidated at our facility. We have also collaborated with scientists of various disciplines in order to address the circadian aspects of various research problems. The outcome of study from our lab will help to treat the patients of circadian rhythm disorders due to shift work, jet-lag or other environmental factors.
