Introduction Programmes of School of Education, BHU under PMMMNMTT Scheme MHRD during March, 2017 - October, 2018 The Faculty of Education has been fulfilling the cherished dream of the founder of the University who attached great importance to teacher education. It has done appreciable service to the cause of education and nation-building by producing eminent educationists, like Late Dr. K.L. Shrimali, an eminent diplomat and Ex-Education Minister of India, Shri Haribansh Rai Bachchan, a renowned poet, and many others. It also runs a B.Ed. (Special) degree programme for training teachers for handicapped children. The thrust areas of the ongoing research projects of the Faculty are Value-oriented Education, Computer Assisted Instruction, Special Education, Distance Education, Educational Technology, Educational Guidance, and Science Education. The Faculty organises seminars and workshops quite regularly and has a number of prestigious publications. Its faculty members visit abroad and some of them have been nominated by the Central and the Provincial Governments to the important Committees and boards. The products of the Faculty have been recognised as excellent achievers by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, Navodaya Vidyalays, Higher Education Commissions of various provinces, National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), and the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). Because of its superior accreditation, many foreign academics come to this Faculty for pursuing their research. The Faculty proposes to introduce some more special courses in near future. The Faculty offers B.Ed., B.Ed. (Special), M.Ed. courses and Ph.D. guidance facilities. Presently it has intake of 180 students in B.Ed., 15 students in B.Ed. (Special) and 24 students in M.Ed. course (excluding Supernumerary seats). The Faculty is also a Study Centre of B.Ed., SE-DE (V.I., H.I. & M.R.), a collaborative programme of M.P. Bhoj Open University, Bhopal and Rehabilitation Council of India, New Delhi. The Faculty is the First Faculty in the University to have undergone the process of NAAC assessment. |
