APPEAL

Proposal for Expansion and A Call for Generous Donation

That the collection increased enormously and it is extremely difficult to accommodate scientifically in the storage space at present available.

That the museum needs a suitable place for its huge library which is now housed in a hall meant for a gallery.
*
That the museum needs a well arranged conservation laboratory for the regular conservation and preservation of antiquities.
*
That the museum does not have a well organized dark-room for processing photographs.
*
That the museum needs a well equipped auditorium for organizing lectures, seminars, workshop, slide and film shows. At present these activities are being carried out in a gallery which is not technically fit for such purposes.
*
That the museum does not have required space for offices of administrative staff.
*
That the museum does not have regular classrooms to conduct classes in Museology.

Extension of Bharat Kala Bhavan BHU Varanasi

Looking into these space problems and the inconveniences experienced every day, the museum has taken a resolution to extend and expand its building so that on the one hand upkeep of priceless collection may be carried out without any difficulty and at the same time, maximum possible help and cooperation may be extended to students, scholars and teachers for the cause of higher education and research. With the assistance of a renowned architect, University Works Department and experts in the Civil Engineering Department of Banaras Hindu University, a well thought out plan and model have been worked out for the proposed extension of building and the approximate cost for this has been estimated to Rs. 30,000,000 (Thirty million). Unfortunately neither Bharat Kala Bhavan nor the Banaras Hindu University is in a position to shoulder this financial involvement. Hence this appeal is put forward to all lovers of art in general and the alumni of Banaras Hindu University in particular to come forward and extend financial help for this noble cause of maintaining this great institution of cultural heritage.

DONATIONS
SHOULD BE IN THE FORM OF CHEQUE/DEMAND DRAFT IN THE NAME OF REGISTRAR, BANARAS HINDU UNIVERSITY (BHARAT KALA BHAVAN FUND).
The names of the donors shall be suitably acknowledged.

All contribution to Banaras Hindu University are exempted from Income Tax under Section 80G(2)(a)(iiif) of the Income Tax Act vide notification No. DGIT(E)/93-94/3354 dated 15.12.1993.
