Dr.
Mahesh Prasad Ahirwar is a Professor in the Department of Ancient Indian
History, Culture and Archaeology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. A
gold medalist in M.A. (1991) from Rani Durgawati University, Jabalpur (Madhya
Pradesh).
�
He
did his Ph.D. from the RDVV, Jabalpur in 1998 for which he was awarded Junior
Research Fellowship by UGC, New Delhi.
�
His
area of specialization is Indian Art and Culture. He has more than 21 years of
teaching and research experience.
Publications

Prof.
Ahirwar is author of five books, which Shaiva Images of Kalchuri Period
(Hindi) and Sraman Tradition and Sant Raidas (Hindi) are quit famous.
�
He
has published more than forty research papers in various reputed national and
international journals and a number of articles in different News Papers and
magazines.
�
He
is the editor of Jagriti, the Research Journal of History, Culture and
Social Justice since 2000.
�
He
gave a number of Radio Talks on many socio-religious topics for All India Radio
Varanasi and Gyanvani.

like Indian Art History Congress (Guwahati), Numismatic Society of India
(Varanasi) and Indian Archaeological Society (New Delhi).
