Celebrations

Birth and Death Anniversaries of reputed personalities of Telugu and Indian Literatures are being celebrated by the department to enable the future generation to know the service rendered by great scholars to the language and literature. And days like Telugu Language day in memory of Gidugu Ramamurthy on August 29th and Matru Bhasha Dinotsovam on February 21 st are also celebrated by the department.

National and International Seminars conducted by Telugu Department:

The Department of Telugu has conducted 13 Seminars and Webinars (National and International). In recent years, the Government of India announced National Education Policy (NEP) for giving new directions to the country. The Department of Telugu conducted a Webinar on National Education Policy with reputed academicians of the country.

One of the most significant and current discussions in education is New Education Policy - 2020. Recent developments in education reforms have heightened the need for the Indian society. However, these rapid changes are having serious impact on the Indian society. The Department of Telugu, Banaras Hindu University, brought a number of eleven personality’s i.e former Vice-Chancellors and present Vice-Chancellors of various states i.e Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Mizoram, and Assam on zoom screen on August 16th and 17th, 2020. The webinar aims to create a platform for sharing the views on the Vision of this Policy, Challenges and to sensitize the participants about NEP 2020. The above issues are suggested by the speakers to make more effective and outcome of the NEP 2020, which can be taken Indian educating system to advanced system.

1. Translation of all subjects in to regional languages irrespective of subject like in South Korea, China, Japan i.e reverse engineering process in academics by translating all the European, American science and technology in to Indian languages to make India as global power in terms of knowledge.

2. Home language education should be improved like in European Union pattern in all the schools.

3. Issues in over certification and grading system, and question of academic skills and importance.

4. FDI in Educations and issues

5. Importance to artificial intelligence

6. Issues in Course /Subject Credit issues

7. Challenges in autonomous issues

8. Challenges in Value certification and knowledge.

9. Issues in Formative assessment and affiliating system

10. The comparative study of Indian education system with several North, West Asian and developed countries

11. Brings fast reform in Social, Economical, cultural of India

12. Required teacher centric education by giving priority to the teacher

13. Need to emphasise on software technology in teaching, machine learning, Artificial Intelligence, skilled learning, liberal arts education system and Uniform curriculum

14. Challenges with education loans with multiple entries and exits

15. Requirement of task forces in states for implementation and to monitor the certification and quality of education.

16. Compulsory implementation of Indian History, Culture and Indian philosophy for all courses

The outcome of the webinar was very positive and the above issues were expressed by the speakers and looking forward to improve and wherever necessary requirements can be considerable from the above suggestions in the NEP 2020. The conclusions of the Webinar were conveyed to the Education Department of Government of India also.
