Teaching/Research Program

The most significant achievement of the centre has been the introduction of a Masters Degree course in Conflict Management & Development and Ph.D. Program in Peace Research. Along with a One Year Post Graduate Diploma in Conflict Management and Development sanctioned initially by the UGC under its Scheme of Innovative Programmes in Interdisciplinary & Emerging Areas, the MCPR also hosts short-term certificate programs for academics and peace workers.

The MA/PG Diploma course in "Conflict Management and Development" offers a state of the art opportunity for students and practitioners from diverse fields concerned with peace, security and community development. Assisted by highly trained faculty from within and outside the country, this unique course takes the students through the process of analyzing the links between development, peace, faith and security in our increasingly globalized world. Students will develop important conflict management knowledge and skills that are increasingly sought to transform conflicts towards positive social change. The main objective of the course is to equip the students with field work skills to analyze and handle today's conflicts and to engage with peace building and conflict prevention as both critical pedagogy and active vocation.
