Specialization - Criminal Law, Law of Torts, Interpretation of Statutes and Law relating to Social Transformation

He did LL.M from Dr. H.S.Gaur University, Sagar (M.P) in 1994 and completed Ph.D. from Banaras Hindu University in 2001. He qualified National Eligibility Test conducted by the UGC and State Level Eligibility Test of the State of Haryana in the year 1996.

He started his teaching career on April 22, 1998 as a Lecturer from St. Andrew’s College, Gorakhpur and later taught at Maharaj Balwant Singh (Post Graduate) College, Gangapur, Varanasi from January 2001 to November 2006. He joined the Law School of Banaras Hindu University in November 2006 as a Reader, designated as Associate Professor and become Professor in 2012.

Prof. Mishra was a Teacher’s Awardee (Post-Doctoral Fellow) of the University Grants Commission, New Delhi in the year 2004. He has also been selected by the Bihar State University (Constituent Colleges) Service Commission, Patna and was offered to join in the College of Commerce, Patna in 2003.

Prof. Mishra specializes in Criminal Law and Law of Torts and teaches at the under-graduate as well as the post-graduate level - Law of Crimes, Statutory Interpretation and Law & Social Transformation in India and teaches Ph.D. and has been guiding research also. He is acknowledged with teaching pedagogy by completing B.Ed degree course. Prof. Mishra has published a number of articles in the Banaras Law Journal and other journals as well, edited books and contributed chapters for books. He has participated in several National and International seminars, workshops and symposia and organized one UGC-sponsored National Seminar. He is a life member of the All India Law Teachers’ Congress and Indian Society of Gandhian Studies.

He is associated with several academic bodies of the Aligarh Muslim University, Jamia Millia Islamia, Dr H.S. Gaur University, Sagar, and Dr. VBS Poorvanchal University Jaunpur.
