Specialization – Information and Technology Law, Civil Procedure Code, Banking Law and Transfer of Property Law

He is a graduate in Political Science and did his LL.B. and LL.M. from Utkal University, Vanivihar, Bhubaneswar (Orissa). He enrolled himself as an advocate in 1996 at the Orrisa High Court and started practicing civil and constitutional matters. He served as a full-time lecturer at Jagjivan Ram Law College, Bhubaneswar for more than a year and later on joined Law School, BHU. He completed his Ph.D. on “Legal Control of Cyber Crime: Indian Perspective” from the Law School, BHU. Moreover, he has also authored four books, among which are "New Legal Dimensions of Cybercrime" and "Indian Judiciary on Appreciation of Electronic Evidence" (three volumes).

He has contributed several articles in various journals on issues relating to Cyber Terrorism, Cyber Crime in India, Cyber Jurisdiction, New Media and New Crime and Protecting the Right to Privacy in the era of Information and Communication Technology. His areas of interest include Cyber Law, Code of Civil Procedure, Transfer of Property Act and Indian Contract Act.

He is widely acclaimed in judicial, legal and professional circles and is a visiting scholar of several universities and legal institutions in India. He is a member of the Academic Council and of the Anti-Ragging Squad of Banaras Hindu University and also a permanent member of the All India Law Teachers Congress, New Delhi. He has participated in and presided over many national and international seminars.
