Law School, Banaras Hindu University was set up in the year 1916 with a vision to promote excellence in the field of legal education and to fulfill the ever increasing demand of quality legal professionals for a growing legal world. The institution is committed to exploring multidisciplinary approaches through its unmatched array of courses curriculum and infrastructure. It is the first Law School in India to introduce clinical legal education and legal aid program to cater the needs of the poor. The academic block of the campus has the library which is being operated by a team of professionally qualified library staff guided by the Library Committee. It has a collection of over eighty thousand books including more than 135 national and International Research Journals covering a wide range of general and special subjects, comprising of text books, reference books, back volumes of journals and reports etc., apart from this students have access to computer and internet services in the library along with photocopying and printing services. Also students and faculties have access to major legal databases such as Westlaw, Manupatra and other databases.
