Specialization - Intellectual Property Rights

He completed his LL.B., LL.M. and Ph.D. from the Faculty of Law, Banaras Hindu University. He specializes in intellectual property law. Prior to joining the Faculty in 2016, he had served as an assistant professor and Head In-Charge for the Department of Law, Tripura Central University (2012-2016). He has published articles and book chapters on patent law issues in a variety of publications, including the Economic and Political Weekly, Journal of the Indian Law Institute and the Banaras Law Journal. His famous publications are “Competition Flexibilities in the TRIPS Agreement: Implications for Technology Transfer and Consumer Welfare” published in Journal of the Indian Law Institute; “Natco-Bayer Verdict: Decoding Local Working Requirement” and “Compulsory License for Diabetes Drug: Legality of Lee Pharma’s Application” published in Economic and Political Weekly. Besides the above, he is a member of the IUCN – World Commission on Environmental Law, Switzerland and Life Member of Indian Society of International Law (ISIL), New Delhi.
