He did his LL.B and LL.M from Banaras Hindu University and Ph.D from B.R.A University, Agra. He started his teaching career as lecturer from Agra College, Agra. He joined BHU as Reader in Law in 2005. At present he is a Professor at Law School, BHU.

He has guided 23 LL.M. dissertations and has supervised 3 Ph.Ds. He has published a book titled Brothel Prostitution in India published by University Book House Pub (P) Ltd., Jaipur and has written 3 chapters in other books. He has written more than 20 articles. Some of his articles are “Corruption: A Major Problem before Criminal Justice System” published in Indian Police Journal, “Medical Practitioners and Hospitals: Liabilities and Protections” published in The Banaras Law Journal in the year of 2014, “Victim Protection and Criminal Justice System in the 21st Century” published in Civil and Military Law Journal, “Child Abuse: A Major Challenge before Juvenile Justice System” published in International Journal of Jurisprudence and “Philosophy of Law and Domestic Violence against Women: Etiology and Legal Regime” published in Caribbean Journal of Criminology and Social Psychology.
