Dr. Raju Majhi completed his B.Com. (Honours) from Karim City College, Jameshedpur and his LL.B. from Jamshedpur Co-operative Law College, Jamshedpur, Ranchi University. After that he completed his Post Graduate Honours in Labour and Social Welfare (LSW) from the Institute of Labour Studies, Jamshedpur and later he did his LL.M. and Ph.D. from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from BHU on the topic “Tribal Laws and their Implementation: A Case Study of Chhotanagpur”. He then joined the Faculty of Law, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi as an Assistant Professor in 2007. He has a teaching experience of more than 13 years. Before joining Law School, BHU, he taught in Imamul Hai Khan Law College, Bokaro and Jamshedpur Co-operative Law College, Jamshedpur, Ranchi University.

He is the Managing Editor of Law School BHU’s newsletter. He holds many important administrative responsibilities. He was the Student Advisor of the Law School for the last nine years. He is also a member of the Standing Committee of the University Sports Board and is also the Chairman (Football) of Banaras Hindu University. Presently he is the Administrative Warden of Chanakya Hostel, Law School, Banaras Hindu University.

Dr. Majhi has taught Intellectual Property Law at the Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi. He is currently teaching Personnel Management and Industrial Relations at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Science, Banaras Hindu University. He has contributed fifteen chapters in edited books, has edited four books and has written two books. He has presented papers in more than 150 national and international seminars. He is an Associate Member of Indian Society of International (ISIL), New Delhi and Life Member of Academique - A Discussion Group in Varanasi. He is also a Life Member of the Environmental & Consumer Protection Foundation, New Delhi.
