Specialization - Labour Law, Company Law and Professional Ethics

He is a graduate in Economics and did his LL.B. and LL.M. from the Faculty of Law, Banaras Hindu University. He was awarded the UGC Merit Scholarship during his LL.B. He obtained his doctorate degree for his thesis titled “The State of Professional Ethics and Accountability of Bench and Bar in Administration of Justice in India” from D.D.U. Gorakhpur University in 2008.

He has more than 18 years of teaching experience. He started his career from V.S.S.D. College, Kanpur in 2000. Thereafter, he joined the University Department of Gorakhpur University in 2001 as a Lecturer. He joined Banaras Hindu University in 2010 as an Assistant Professor. He was subsequently appointed as an Associate Professor in 2015.

He has presented more than 100 papers in national and international seminars. He has also authored 8 books published by reputed publishers including a book titled “Administration of Justice in India: Ethics and Accountability”, published by Deep & Deep Publication, New Delhi. He has organized several conferences and seminars. Additionally, he has delivered guest lectures in various academic institutions including the Department of Ayurveda, Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University and has also given lectures on various social issues on the All India Radio, Varanasi.

He has more than 9 years of administrative experience as Warden and Administrative Warden of various hostels including the International House Complex, BHU and International Flats, BHU. He is a member of the Academic Council, Banaras Hindu University. He is also the Coordinator of the Moot Court Committee and the Sports Committee and has been the Secretary of Legal Aid and Advice Committee, Banaras Hindu University. Dr. Patel is the recipient of several awards such as the Mahatma Gandhi Award, the Arch of Excellence, Global Award and Bharat Nirman Award.
