He completed his LL.M from K.U.K University in 2008 and his LL.B. from M.D. University, Rohtak, Haryana. He qualified UGC-NET in 2008. Dr. Mehra practiced law in the High Courts and District Courts for more than 5 years.

He has a teaching experience of one year at Amity Law School, Delhi before joining Law School BHU in the year 2009.
