(1861-1946)

  • 1911 – Formation of the Hindu University society on November 28.

    • Quit law practice and decided to devote his life in the service of the nation and work actively

    • for the establishment of Banaras Hindu University in December.

  • 1914 – Actively associated with the Home Rule league Movement.

  • 1915 – 'Prayag Sewa Samiti' established under his chairmanship in February.

  • 1915 Banaras Hindu University Bill passed in the Imperial Legislative Council in October.

  • 1916 – Foundation of Banaras Hindu University laid on February 4.

  • 1915 Served as a member of Industrial Commission for two years.

  • 1918 – Formation of Boys Scout Association by Sewa Samiti and Malaviyaji chosen as the Chief

  • 1915 – Scout.

  • 1915 Chaired the Delhi Session of Congress in December for the second time.

  • 1919 – Worked on Congress appointed Committees during April-June to report on oppression by the

  • 1915 – Government officials during the imposition of Martial law in the wake of JalliawalaBagh

  • 1915 – incident; Condemned the oppressive conduct of the government officials and demanded on

  • 1915 – independent inquiry.
